After intense research, and wait around the virtual “Dell Water Cooler” listening for good deals and the like, I have found it.

While the Inspiron 9100 has been a priceless piece of equipment for me, it’s time has come to retire, and be passed on to a family member who would appreciate what life it still has (and oh, it has plenty).

How about some preliminary specs for the new Inspiron 1520, shall we?

Memory: 1GB DDR2 (667MHz)
Screen: 15.4″ Widescreen (1680×1050)
Video: nVidia GeForce 8600M GT (256MB)
Disk: 120GB SATA (5400rpm)
Other: CD-RW/DVD, Bluetooth, Integrated Wireless (a/b/g), HD Audio, an Attitude

The 17″ widescreen looked cool, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I’m used to and just fine with a 15.4″ widescreen.

The only downside:

Yes, there shall be a review when the beast arrives. And yes, Dell’s gonna plant a tree for me (aww).
